Laserway is a medical aesthetic practice in Hobart and their passion and focus on aesthetics makes them a natural sponsor for our photography competition in 2010. The prizes are fantastic so dig around in iPhoto and find your most inspiring, breathtaking and captivating elective photo that will bring even the most hardened medical student to tears.

Application Procedure

• Entries must be received by Friday 25th June, 2010

• Entries must include the following information to be considered valid:

A. Entrant’s name, university and year of study

B. Entrant’s postal address, email address and mobile phone number

C. The title of the entered photograph

D. Date, Location and country where the photograph was taken

E. A description of the circumstances surrounding the photograph (100 words or less).

• Entries must include an electronic copy of the photograph, minimum 3 megapixels (2048×1536)

Eligibility

• The student must be a medical student (current or deferred) attending an Australian or New Zealand University. Students are not required to attend Convention in order to be eligible to enter the competition.

• Entries will be accepted as a hardcopy submission together with an electronic copy to enable it to be displayed during Convention.

• Entries that do not meet all entry criteria will be disqualified from the competition.

• Through the action of submitting an entry, all participants agree to the declaration as outlined below:

A. I grant AMSA Convention 2010 Committee permission to display the image within the Convention 2010 venue, as well as on the Convention 2010 website.

B. I have read, understood, have abided by and agree to abide by the ‘Conditions of Entry’ which are described below.

C. I certify that all information provided on this entry is, to the best of my knowledge, correct.

D. AMSA and the 2010 AMSA Convention Committee will not be responsible for any unauthorized use of any submitted

• Laserway and the 2010 AMSA Convention Committee reserve the right to not award the prize(s) if the entries are not of sufficient standard.

• AMSA Convention Committee reserves the right to exclude entries if they are deemed inappropriate or offensive.

• Only one photograph will be accepted per student. If multiple photographs are submitted, only the first submission will be accepted.

Conditions of Entry

1. Entries must be received from individuals only, not groups, organisations or corporations.

2. The individual must have personally taken the photograph being submitted.

3. The photograph must have been taken within the time period of the individual’s medical studies.

4. No post-production or digital alterations are permitted, with the exceptions of:

a. Brightness and contrast adjustments that are applied to the entire image in the same manner.

b. Image cropping.
