Plenary Program Update PDF Print E-mail

When I put my hand up to organise the academic program for Convention 2010, I thought ‘easy’. I have attended plenty of conferences before and even organised a few. My skills and experience will be up to this task especially if I get a good team around me. Well I got the good team fairly early on so that was sorted and then I attended Brisbane Convention 2009. Cripes, what a lineup! The quality of the speakers and the workshops were so far above any other national or international conference I had ever had the good fortune to attend. I was kept entertained, enthralled and amazed for the entire week. What an experience and oh boy, what an act to beat! I must admit, I thought how the hell are we going to top that?

Well, thanks to the hard work of a bunch of inspirational people on the academic team, we have done it. I am busting to tell you about the entire academic lineup but you will have to wait. Suffice to say, I am confident we have done it, this program of plenary speakers will be spoken about for years. Whilst the social program looks amazing, I have a sneaking suspicion that it may be a bit quiet this year because nobody is going to want to sleep in and miss a single minute of this academic program. Prepare to be entertained, inspired, motivated and energised. Prepare to be introduced to what you personally can accomplish. Prepare to see where medicine can take you. Prepare to answer the call!

Workshop Session Update! PDF Print E-mail

Sorry to keep you all in the dark for so long, awaiting eagerly by your computer hungry for an update on the Hobart2010 academic program, but as the saying goes “being mean keeps them keen!” Once the plenary program had been put together and we saw how amazing the line up looked for the morning sessions, we knew that it was our sole responsibility to make sure that the afternoon sessions were as jaw-droppingly, mindblowingly awesome as their morning counterparts. So with a goal firmly in mind, the academic team have been hard at work lining up a series of afternoon workshops that will have you missing lunch (after all you can always eat…) to line up for a series of sessions that promise to hit all of the right spots and leave you completely satisfied and reaching for a smoke (legal note: the Hobart2010 Academic committee in no way shape or form promote or encourage smoking, it is a nasty habit that will leave you breathless and gasping for air. For a similar effect we recommend attending the Hobart2010 conference in July…).

The academic team has been hard at work putting together an academic program that will leave you begging for more! Letters have been sent out and the majority of speakers for the Plenary sessions have been locked in. We can’t unfortunately give away any names as of yet but lets just say you’re not going to be wanting to miss any of these sessions, no matter how big the previous night was… Numbers have been dialled, and some of the worlds best and brightest have answered the call... will you?
